The latest product in GM's hybrid strategy, the 2007 Saturn Aura Green Line hybrid is expected to arrive in Saturn retailers within weeks.

Carrying a MSRP of $22,695 (including destination charge) the Saturn Aura Green Line hybrid is the lowest-priced hybrid vehicle on the market for 2007.

GM has managed to cut the hybrid premium to under $2,500 from the non-hybrid Aura XE. Equipped with GM’s 2.4L, four-cylinder Ecotec engine and the GM Hybrid system, the Aura Green Line hybrid is expected to deliver fuel economy improvements of about 25 percent over the base Aura XE model.

“The introduction of the Aura Green Line broadens Saturn’s commitment to customers of enabling them to drive green without going broke,” said Saturn General Manager Jill Lajdziak. “With Green Line variants of both Aura and Vue, Saturn again demonstrates that environmental products can also be a great value.”

The mid-sized sedan hybrid is the first of four hybrids GM will bring to market in 2007. GM will launch the world’s first two-mode hybrid system in the full-size Chevy Tahoe and GMC Yukon SUVs later in the year. GM kicked off their latest hybrid strategy with the launch of the 2007 Vue Green Line hybrid SUV.

Under the current strategy GM will launch a total of 12 hybrid models before the end of the decade.
