US July 2009 hybrid car sales totalled 35,429 units, up 35.19% on the June figure of 26,205units. Year to date (YTD) US hybrid sales for 2009 currently stand at 161,945 units, down 22.48%on the 2008 figure 208,911 units for the same period.

Fusion Hybrid - Sales Increasing

Ford are slowly beginning to muscle in on the domination of Toyota and Honda in hybrid car table. Ford’s Fusion hybrid accelerated into second place with sales of 2,589 units pushing the Camry into third place, while the Ford Escape hybrid pushed the Honda insight into fifth spot.

This is the first time that a US hybrid car manufacturer has had two hybrid models in the top four.
