All “ECO” and Less “Ego” as Hollywood Embraces Hybrids |

ECO is hip. Hollywood stars are increasingly on the hybrid car “A” list of owners as they choose from the Mercedes Benz Blue TEC range to get around town. Golden Globe and Emmy award winning actress Felicity Huffman owns a Mercedes-Benz BlueTEC clean diesel car, while Sex in the City star Sarah Jessica Parker also drives a Blue TEC.
Robert Downey Jr. of Sherlock Holmes fame drives the Mercedes S400 HYBRID to get to the set. Gilles Marini as well as actresses Liv Tyler ("The Lord of the Rings"), Rosario Dawson ("A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints"), Christina Applegate ("Married with Children") and Molly Sims ("Yes Man") and singer Nicole Scherzinger have also switched to the Blue TEC range.
 Robert Downey JR S 400 Mercedes Hybrid Over the past decade hybrids have been a popular choice amongst some other Hollywood stars. Cameron Diaz, Leonardo Di Caprio, David Duchovny and Patricia Arquette to name but a few have all been seen riding around in hybrid cars. While some have chosen the legendary Prius as their hybrid fix others like Duchovny have opted for the Ford Escape Hybrid to lower their carbon footprint. Sue Ellen of “Dallas” has switched to a Prius too – Linda Grey who plays Sue Ellen drives a 2004 Prius and loves it. Sue Ellen, REDUCING oil dependency? We expect “JR” will NOT be pleased when he finds out……………he may get “Jeannie” to dream up a little surprise eh?? |
